Kerry Krebill Fund for
Commissions of Choral Music

Kerry Krebill, Artistic Director of ACS for 19 years, was well-known in the national musical community for championing new choral commissions by premiering a new one almost every two years with the Alexandria Choral Society. Since 1984, Maestra Krebill commissioned ten choral works during her tenure by the following composers: Robert Shafer, Richard Bales, Russell Woollen, Stephen Douglas Burton, Daniel Gawthrop, Garrison Hull, Mark Adamo, William Hawley, and James Grant. ACS is pleased to announce the premiere of a new commissioned work by local Washington, DC composer, Frances (Sis) Thompson McKay at the June concerts, written for both adult and children's choruses.

In Maestra Krebill's honor, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce the establishment of the Kerry Krebill Fund for Commissions of Choral Music to continue this valuable tradition and support future commissions of choral work.

Contributions to this fund may be made using our secure online donation form or using the Order/Donation form. Initial monies for the valuable fund were raised at the June 30, 2001, "Farewell, Kerry!" reception and Silent Auction.
